Thermal insulation materials are divided into three categories: porous materials, heat reflective materials and vacuum materials. The aerospace industry has harsh requirements on the weight and volume of the heat insulation materials used, and often requires it to have sound insulation, vibration reduction, and corrosion resistance. The need for insulation materials varies from aircraft to aircraft. Foam plastic, superfine glass wool, high silica wool and vacuum insulation board are commonly used for insulation in aircraft cockpit and cockpit.

Nano-silica is one of the early application of nano-materials, nano-SiO₂ in rubber modification, engineering plastics, ceramics, biomedicine, optics, building materials, resin-based composite materials in the application of many reports.
Nano silica can be packed in plastic-lined double-layer paper bags and cardboard barrels, transported as non-toxic and non-combustible materials, and stored in cool, dry and rain-proof places.
